Our
Impact

Our one-to-one and group feedback show that the majority of women feel less isolated, more relaxed, and overall enjoyment from the events. Over 90% of our clients joined different activities such as coffee mornings, sewing classes, baking classes, outings and exercise classes. They have expressed that these programmes and learning new skills have made them grow, become more interesting, adaptable to change, and most importantly increased their confidence skills. It has also helped them meet new local people and improved their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Our feedback survey reveals significant positive outcomes related to social interaction and connection among participants:

  • Increased Social Interaction: 100% of respondents reported making new friends through our project.

  • Sense of Connection: 92% of survey participants said that they felt more connected as a result of participating in our activities.

  • Extended Social Networks: 83% of survey respondents continued to meet these new friends outside of our services, reducing feelings of loneliness and helping them better handle challenges.

Coffee Mornings

Our coffee mornings and outings provided opportunities for participants to break their daily routines, interact with other women, and form new social connections. These events were especially valuable for those who may feel isolated in their homes, giving them the opportunity to enjoy refreshments in coffee shops and meet new friends in the local area. We invited numerous speakers to share information on housing, mental health, and benefits, which increased participants' awareness of these issues and local childcare services. Through these activities, participants met other women from their local community and neighbourhood, helping to build a supportive and friendly community network where individuals could rely on each other. They became more confident in accessing other services in the local area.

Cooking Class

The parents and children cooking class helped participants meet other parents and children. The class facilitated the sharing of healthy recipes, learning about nutrition, and buying healthy meals within a budget. Cooking and eating together strengthened connections between families in the local areas. Additionally, participants cooked traditional foods from their home countries, encouraging cultural understanding and exchange. This cultural exchange enriched their social experiences and broadened their horizons.

Self-Empowerment Group

The Self-Empowerment Group was a popular programme where women engaged in various activities such as crochet, knitting, and other hobbies they wished to lead or learn. During sessions, they shared skills and supported each other while developing new hobbies. Feedback showed that women met new friends, learned new skills, and improved their emotional well-being. This created a natural environment for building friendships based on shared passions.

Leadership Skill

The programme helped women improve their confidence by learning about assertiveness and public speaking, enabling them to raise their voices in accessing different services, such as at their children's schools, in tenant management meetings, and in everyday life. Participants learned through role play, which enabled them to know their rights and how to advocate for themselves.
